Over at TCA, the good Reverend has reminded me of my MISSION IMPOSSIBLE SPY KIT.
My parents (who gave away all my books to a girl called Jane King – but that story is almost too awful to remember, let alone blog) actually bought me one when I was about seven, after months of begging. I was amazed.
And so happy.
Does anyone have one? Even a photo of one? I can’t find any on teh intertubes and I’d love to see it again!
Image found here.
I wonder if anyone has thought of doing a mashup of the Mission Impossible Theme and Space 1999? Hey, I just thought of it!
Looking forward to it!
i was more obsessed with “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”… but i remember playing spies, and it was endless fun. At least for a gang of neighborhood girls. Not so much for our poor neighbors…
Oh yeah: Ilya (the blonde) was so hot!
I really liked that show. I thought they were so sophisticated – especially Barbara Cain.
Which leads me to wonder yet again how anyone could think Tom Cruise could fill those shoes.
Oh yeah! When I was trying to find a piccy of the Kit on image search I kept getting Tom Cruise. At first I was confused, then I remembered the horror….
and predictive text on my phone said Cain instead of Bain. Sorry Barbara.
From the first second that match was lit in the opening credits, I was hooked. But that was the early 90s version of MI, so perhaps lacked the glamour of Ms Cain.
Sobering to think that Martin Landau ended up as Pinocchio’s Dad!
Oh Barbara Bain… gorgeous indeed. I had such a crush.
Barbara Bain was okay, I wasn’t that into Mission Impossible. But I loved “The Avengers”. I’d put Diana Rigg up agains Ms. Bain any time.
OK! A Barbara Bain/Diana Rigg jelly wrestling match it is!
What flavor jelly? Cherry?
Pineapple
